Children's Museum of Indianapolis - The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, a non-profit institution committed to enriching the lives of children, is one of the largest children's museum in the world. The 356,000-square-foot facility houses 10 major galleries that explore the physical and natural sciences, history, world cultures and the arts. The Children's Museum is a place to learn and do. Whenever possible, exhibits are “hands-on” or participatory in nature.

Indianapolis Zoo - The Indianapolis Zoo proudly celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2004. Since opening in 1964, the Indianapolis Zoo has grown into a world-class facility hosting a million visitors each year and playing a major role in worldwide conservation and research, including accomplishing the world’s first successful artificial insemination of an African elephant. 

Indianapolis Museum of Art - The Indianapolis Museum of Art, featuring world-class art collections and special exhibitions in an enhanced complex that features three new wings. With 50 percent more gallery space, the new Museum complex will offer services and amenities designed for the enjoyment of visitors, including new learning spaces, new restaurants, an improved Museum shop and more.

Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art - The Eiteljorg Museum is unique one of two museums east of the Mississippi with both Native American and Western art. Located in downtown Indianapolis, the museum is within walking distance of the RCA Dome, Circle Centre Mall and major downtown hotels.

Indiana State Museum - The Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St. in White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis, is the state's gathering place - inviting exploration, discovery and an ever-changing, family friendly experience.

Eagle Creek Park - Stay for the day at Eagle Creek, the fourth largest city-owned park in the United States. If the almost 1,400 acres of water don't entice you, the over 3,900 acres of dry land activities will.

Indiana War Memorial - At the onset of the Civil War in 1861, there were virtually no active military units in Indiana. Yet within a week after the assault upon Fort Sumter, thousand of volunteers answered the call and assembled in Indianapolis, Indiana to go to war! For everyone and anyone who is a Civil War buff and/or student - The Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum warrants a visit to Indianapolis on its own.

Soldiers and Sailors Monument - The State Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument was dedicated in 1902 to Indiana's heroes who died in wars before World War I.

Indiana Historical Society - Since 1830, the Indiana Historical Society has been Indiana’s storyteller, connecting people to the past by collecting, preserving, interpreting and disseminating Indiana history. The independent, nonprofit organization also publishes books and periodicals; sponsors teacher workshops; provides youth, adult and family programming; assists local historical groups throughout the state; and maintains one of the largest collections of material on the history of Indiana and the Old Northwest.

Scottish Rite Cathedral - The Indianapolis Scottish Rite Cathedral Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in 1984 to raise and expend funds to be used exclusively for the charitable and educational purposes of the Indianapolis Valley including the preservation and maintenance of the Scottish Rite Cathedral. This beautiful, gothic Cathedral located at 650 North Meridian Street is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Morris Butler House - Old Victorian turn of the century mansions what you enjoy? Located near the center of Indianapolis on Park Street, this Empire-style house is easily accessible and a favorite tourist attraction for those interested in period antiques and architecture.

Fort Harrison State Park - Since 1903 Fort Harrison has played an important role in Indiana history. Although the Fort was slated for closure in 1991, reuse of the land will continue to serve the citizens of Indiana. In 1995 the U.S. Department of the Interior approved the State of Indiana's request to convert 1,700 acres of the 2,500 acre post into a state park and nature preserve.
